Alco has recently introduced a new line of patented chemistries formulated to provide functional benefit to the detergent, textile, and cleaning industries. The ALCOGUARD® products improve the cleaning, hand, and finish of fabrics (laundry, carpet, upholstery, etc.). They also can provide excellent film forming ability to enhance cleaning of hard surfaces.
ALCOGUM® solution thickeners are high molecular weight polymers used to viscosify a wide range of SBR, EVA, and PVA latex compounds. Alco Chemical pioneered the manufacture of zero VOC gum thickeners such as ALCOGUM AN-10, giving the formulator an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional gum thickeners. A wide range of grades are available to allow the formulator to optimize viscosity flow and coating penetration for specific formulations and application equipment.
ALCOGUM® L-SERIES viscosifiers are supplied as a low viscosity latex form and build viscosity when added to pigmented carpet compounds. The low viscosity allows for easy mixing and metering in a production environment. ALCOGUM L-Series represent an advanced thickener technology for carpet applications requiring fast line speeds and exceptional finished carpet properties.
ALCOQUEST® polymers are effective in the preparation, dyeing and finishing of textile fabrics. These polymeric materials provide the ability to replace phosphates in preventing mineral scale deposition in bleach or scour ranges. They can also help prevent dyes from redepositing during wash off, eliminating color variations. ALCOQUEST polymers can also increase the effectiveness of peroxide bleaches by interacting with soluble and particulate iron, reducing total chemical costs and fabric rejects.
The NARLEX® product line includes a diverse line of products that can be used in both leather and dye processing. They are used in chrome leather retanning to provide fill, tighten the grain and provide waterproofing. As dye dispersants, they improve the efficiency of the milling process of liquid dispersed dyes and aid redispersion in the dye bath.
VERSA-TL® products are unique, high performance sulfonated polymers used for a variety of applications in both consumer and industrial cleaning. The VERSA-TL chemistry provides exceptional dispersancy properties, especially in areas with high levels of iron in their water. They are also excellent film formers that are functional even in very high temperature applications. The anti -static properties of the VERSA- TL’s offer opportunities in critical use and electronic applications.
