Alco Employees Invest 210 Volunteer Hours to Local Habitat for Humanity
October 2007
CHATTANOOGA, Tennesse
Thirty-five employees from Alco Chemical Company donated 210 volunteer hours to community outreach during October. Employees from various departments within Alco, including Marketing, Sales, Purchasing, Research, Manufacturing and Customer Service, worked on a home being constructed in Chattanooga through Habitat for Humanity.
The Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga is a nonprofit, ecumenic Christian housing organization that has been building simple, decent and affordable homes in Chatanooga since 1986. Habitat for Humanity partners with volunteers and low income families to build affordable housing. The houses are sold to these families at no profit and no interest. Volunteers provide most of the labor, while individuals and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat homes.
