Alco Chemical Announces NSF Drinking Water Approvals for Specialty Polymers

Alco Chemical is pleased to announce that we have been successful in achieving NSF/ANSI Standard 60 approval for a range of Alco's Specialty Polymers. Our regulatory efforts have been in response to the broadening use of reverse osmosis (RO) and thermal distillation to produce potable water on a global basis. The specific range of products approved provide exceptional functionality to meet the diverse range of water conditions observed in today’s rapidly changing environment.

The products approved by NSF are as follows:

AQUATREAT® AR-935 – A sodium polyacrylate utilized as a general purpose antiscalent in both reverse osmosis and distillation systems producing potable water. Maximum dosage 10mg/l as supplied.

AQUATREAT AR-636 – A sodium polyacrylate utilized as a general purpose dispersant and antiscalent in reverse osmosis and distillation systems producing potable water. Maximum dosage 10 mg/l as supplied.

AQUATREAT AR-540 – A patented sulfonated multipolymer utilized as a calcium phosphate inhibitor and heavy metals stabilizer (including iron and zinc) in reverse osmosis and distillation systems producing potable water. Maximum dosage 10 mg/l as supplied.

Versaflex® ONE – A patented maleic multipolymer utilized for severe calcium carbonate fouling conditions and as a secondary stabilizer of calcium phosphate, iron and zinc in reverse osmosis and distillation systems producing potable water. Maximum dosage 10 mg/l as supplied.

Versaflex Si – A patented maleic/sulfonated multipolymer utilized for the control of silicates and polymeric silica in reverse osmosis and distillation systems producing potable water. Maximum dosage 15 mg/l as supplied.
